Drew Barrymore has made it clear she’s not going to be tied to a barbell to get back her pre-baby body.
Sticking to her word, the mom of two has instead taken up fun dance classes at Equinox with gal pal and choreographer Robin Antin.
Spotted two weeks in a row at GROOV3’s West Hollywood location, Barrymore, 40, showed off her dance-party moves in baggy sweats and sneakers, while Antin rocked a classic “throwback hip hop look,” says an onlooker.

“Robin is normally front-and-center in the class, but they both took a back row approach,” adds the source. “Drew was uninhibited with the hip thrusts and body rolls.”
The actress was “having fun, smiling, clapping and really getting into it,” says the onlooker. “Robin graciously helped her with some pro tricks to help her pick up some choreography more quickly.”
In December, Barrymore – who has daughters Frankie, 14 months, and Olive, 2, with husband Will Kopelman – told PEOPLE she wasn’t in a rush to get back in shape.
“It took nine months to build. It should take nine months to get off,” she said. “I was like, ‘Don’t talk to me about how fast and fabulous you are or it came off. That was not my experience. I’m having to work my ass off until I even think about getting it off.”
